The annual Lourdes Pilgrimage Reunion was held on Saturday 29 October 2016 at 6.00 p.m. at the Madonna tal-Mirakli Hall in Lija, as has been customary for the past years.
Despite the inclement weather which heralded very strong winds, rain and a touch of fresh weather, a very good number of Our Lords the Sick and their families very happily took up our invitation. Some even purposely crossed over from Gozo. They were assisted throughout by the equally satisfactory number of members and volunteers in attendance. The Hall was in fact packed to capacity.
The event very appropriately started off with Holy Mass in thanksgiving, which was celebrated by the very Rev. Fr. David Gauci, Conventual Chaplain ad honorem, who delivered a beautiful homily containing some very pertinent reflections on the encounter of Zacchaeus with Jesus in Jericho as recounted in St. Luke’s gospel reading.

This was then followed by light refreshments which were lovingly served to our special guests by members and volunteers.
The event was a complete success, well achieving its primary objective of perpetuating the deep spirit of solidarity created by the wonderful and unique experience of what is the Lourdes Pilgrimage.
