Children’s Easter Film Outing
The Children’s Film event was this year held during the Easter period, on Thursday 5th April 2018, at a private viewing which was put up for us at the Empire Cinema, Bugibba.
Postponing the event in this way allowed the Maltese Association to better spread out its charitable events, and enabled the children better opportunity to enjoy and appreciate this special treat which is laid out for them each year.
Just over 100 children hailing from various parts of the Island were treated to an enthralling viewing of Peter Rabbit, a 2018 live-action / computer-animated comedy film based on the stories created by Beatrix Potter.
This was a perfect choice of film for the children, driving home some very pertinent environmental messages amongst other values yet still in a comical setting.
Everything proceeded very smoothly indeed, and it was a most enjoyable afternoon for the children, who were extremely well behaved. Each individual child was handed a bag of freshly popped popcorn and a soft drink before proceeding into the designated theatre hall, and bagfuls of goodies were distributed during intermission.
The children had a few good laughs throughout the show, and it was extremely rewarding to hear them all clapping and cheering as the movie drew to a close.
We are most thankful to those Members and Volunteers who lent a hand at ensuring the success of the whole event, and we are also most grateful to the cinema staff, who were also most supportive.
