Lourdes Preparatory Mass

With just one week to go and preparation in full swing, Our Lords the Sick, helpers and pilgrims gathered at St Ursula’s convent in Valletta for a final briefing and celebration of Holy Mass.

Before Mass, in the absence of President Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, who is currently in Rome attending the Council Complete of State elections, Vice President Major Raymond Miller introduced the two deputy pilgrimage directors to the attendees. The event started with Lourdes Personnel being addressed by Deputy Pilgrimage Director Hélène Zammit who went over the arrangements and important details needing to be relayed to the helpers; whilst after the Mass, Deputy Pilgrimage Director Karen Miller, spoke about the pilgrimage and gave a general briefing to all malades, relatives of the Sick and pilgrims. Both Personnel and pilgrims were happy to meet up for this special function prior to going to Lourdes.

Holy Mass was celebrated by the Principal Chaplain Mgr Lawrence Gatt assisted by Conventual Chaplains Mgr Victor Zammit McKeon and Fr David Gauci. In his homily Mons Gatt spoke about the Lourdes experience and the special devotion to The Virgin Mother.
