Thanksgiving Mass for Our Lords the Sick at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces in Zabbar

In fulfilment of our commitment to the Order of Malta's dual, charitable missions of Obsequium Pauperum and Tuitio Fidei, members and volunteers of the Order of Malta, adopted the Grand Hospitaller’s suggestion of organising a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Graces on Saturday, 11th February, 2017 – this being the International Day of the Sick.

A group of Our Lords the Sick, who had participated in the Order of Malta’s past International Pilgrimages to Lourdes, were accompanied by members and volunteers of the Maltese Association, to attend a Thanksgiving Mass at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces in Zabbar.

Fr Evan Caruana, Archpriest of Zabbar, invited the gathering to join him and the Parish's congregation in celebrating this special Saturday evening Mass. Fr Savio Vella and Fr David Gauci, both Chaplains of the Maltese Association, participated in the concelebration of the well-attended church service.

Following the church function, refreshments were served in the Zabbar Parish Hall, which is situated just across the main square. Members and volunteers of the Maltese Association are very grateful to those numerous people who helped make this service such a memorable event for our special guests.

The Maltese Association would like to thank most especially: Fr Evan Caruana, for extending to our Association, his invitation to visit the Shrine, Mark Anthony and Emerson the Sacristan, who attended to the preparations in Church, and all the Lady volunteers of Zabbar Parish’s Community, who so very kindly helped out in the Parish hall.
