Over 130 guests from Government Residential homes for the Elderly were invited to an afternoon picnic in the beautiful gardens of San Anton Palace. The venue was graciously offered by H.E. The President of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro-Preca, who made it a point to speak to each and every guest present.

This was indeed greatly appreciated by  one and all, especially those who yearned to deliver a personal message to the President, some were even lucky to take a photo with Her!

The Parliamentary Secretary for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Aging, Dr Justyne Caruana, also attended this special event.  Members of the Maltese Association and its volunteers look so much forward to giving a service with love from year to year!

The setting was idyllic and the elderly were entertained in a cheerful and convivial atmosphere. The afternoon commenced with Mass in the charming Russian Chapel of San Anton Palace, where the Rev. Mgr Paul Vella officiated and was assisted by Canon Carmelo Busuttil.
The serving of refreshments in the garden grounds followed, where drinks, cakes, cheesecakes, pizza and delicious timpana were served by Association members and helpers. The eats were quickly devoured by our special guests with no leftovers to waste!
