followed by a Reception in the Ambassador’s hall at the Auberge de Castille

The Orchestral Charity Concert has become an annual event in the Calendar of Activities of the Maltese Association of the Order of Malta. This yearly event is held to mark the Feast Day of St John the Baptist, Patron Saint of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

The Hon. Prime Minister, Dr Joseph Muscat, due to another unforeseen engagement, unfortunately could not be present at the Concert this year. The Hon. Minister of Education and Employment, Dr Evarist Bartolo very kindly attended in his stead.

Maltese Association President Philip Farrugia-Randon together with Dr Pascal Demajo, chairman of the Charity Concert briefly addressed the audience at the Co-Cathedral and thanked them for their precious support.

The Charity Concert Committee once again engaged the services of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Prof. Michael Laus, with the participation of Soprano Miriam Gauci and The Goldberg Ensemble choir. The programme took the audience on a pleasant musical trip, giving a brilliant performance of works by Vivaldi, Handel, Pergolesi, Mozart and others.

The lovely evening came to an end with reception in the beautifully decorated Ambassador’s Hall of the Auberge de Castille.

Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes to the honorable Prime Minister for his generous and gracious hospitality.
