Family Fun Day Event – Malta International Airport

22/11/2014

At 10.00 a.m. the food hall at the M.I.A. was full of excited parents and children eagerly awaiting the start of the day’s activities.

Helpers and Prison Inmates who are regularly visited by our Prison Ministry group, this year also joined in to give some assistance as part of their Community service work. The boys worked so hard and gave us more than a helping hand, they were so enthusiastic to be involved in every possible way.

The day started off with Holy Mass celebrated by The Rev. Canon Carmel Busuttil. This was then followed by animators who kept everyone entertained for an hour with singing, dancing and face painting.

Lunch was then served at 1.00 p.m. Excited children and their parents were able to tuck in and select meals from the different food outlets such as Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Cucina Italiana and Fat Harry’s.

After lunch there was more entertainment as Father Christmas and one of his Elves joined in to give the children a lovely time. Being overweight and in order to lighten his heavy sacks, he distributed lots of sweets for the young and old to take home. He also had photos taken with the children who loved sitting on his lap and touching his long white beard. Father Christmas’s departure brought an end to a very special day. By 3.30 p.m. it was time to leave and our special guests were once again given a box of chocolates to take home and enjoy with their families.
The helpers were then able to relax after sharing a very successful and rewarding day with these unassuming and modest people.

Our great thanks goes to the M.I.A. for making this wonderful event possible and helping us in our mission to reach out to the Poor, Sick and Persons with Special Needs – the generosity of M.I.A. was boundless and unlimited and for this we thank them so much once again!
