November Tea Party for Maltese Association Lourdes Patients

Despite it being a cold, windy and rainy afternoon, our enthusiastic patients still refused to be discouraged from coming to the warm and pretty Fontanella tea rooms in Mdina, about twenty five of them braved the bad weather and turned up. This activity has become an event where the malades look forward to meeting up from month to month. New friendships have been conceived and others are rekindled, because our intention is not only to give the Sick a pleasant afternoon, our aim is to invite different patients from previous years to give them a chance to make new acquaintances. Our great thanks go to Louisette and Peter Sant Manduca, who are always so kind and willing to welcome us with wide open arms. Fontanella tea rooms served the patients with delicious eats and mouth-watering cakes with continuous pots of hot tea and coffee to keep them warm on this wintry afternoon.

One person when contacted the other day said the following words “wow, you really care. You have not forgotten us. You cannot imagine what this means to me. I am not alone” Can we ignore a plea for love and affection and being there to listen!!! The look in their eyes, the smile on their face and the hope in their attitude tells it all during the few hours we spend in their company .One of our very dedicated helpers wrote the following thoughts…
